Why DisMANtle?

We’d like to tell you a bit about our origins—we promise not to go on for too long.

Yes, we are a new men’s cosmetics brand, but our goal goes far beyond that. We want to be a benchmark for care—overall care—for you. What does that mean? In one phrase: we want applying cream to be part of a much bigger decision.

For years, men have lived with a traditional and preconceived notion of masculinity—one that dictates how you should act to fit into the mold of a “real man.” One that punishes you for showing weakness, prevents you from expressing yourself, and labels you as “soft” for showing your emotions.

Have you ever felt like you needed to explain how you feel to someone but thought no one would care—or that you wouldn’t even understand it yourself because no one taught you how to connect with it? Welcome to traditional masculinity.

DisMANtle was created primarily as a platform to promote men’s mental health and dismantle everything that stops us from expressing ourselves and being free—like we should have been from the start. Unfortunately, these limitations are programmed into us from birth. Baby boy? Blue everything. First toy? Some hyper-masculine action figure. First sport? Football or something involving contact. Sound familiar?

It’s rare to meet men who can easily talk about their emotions without fearing judgment, even though many of us probably wish we could. But it feels inappropriate, doesn’t it?

According to the study Men in Charge, 42% of men feel their masculinity is questioned simply for expressing their emotions. Imagine your worth in society being challenged just for saying you’re hungry. The joke writes itself.

Since our launch, we’ve seen comments on social media like, “A real man doesn’t talk about being a real man,” “If only it were like this,” and “That’s just fragile masculinity.” And well, that’s exactly why we’re doing this. No one said opening this conversation would be easy, but meaningful change never is. We know there are men out there who long for this shift, and we’re here to give them a voice.

It’s vital for men to express their feelings and emotions in ways other than anger. At the end of the day, we’re here to live fully and enjoy life.
